Kiff!

As you may already know-Seamus and I got a cat!

Her name is Kiff (after Kif Kroker from Futurama, and not the Arabic or Soutie slang words, haha) and she's utterly adorable, even to a non-cat-person like me.

She is doing great, especially since she came to us with a nasty cold. Thankfully, she's feeling much better now and able to keep up with Duncan. They've become fast friends-which to them means constantly harassing each other and chewing on one another's ears.

We've been able to get some rare photos of them NOT chasing each other however, including them doing their favorite things;

having breakfast together

and taking a little nap.

I couldn't be happier with how well they are getting along. It's really funny, I thought they played too rough with each other, but given how much they obviously adore each other I think my worries are unfounded. They can be tugging at one another's limbs one minute and then be asleep cheek-to-cheek (as they are now) in Duncan's bed another minute.

As for my allergies, I seem to be adapting rather well with the help of a little Claritin and some kitty-wipes.

Yes, they make wipes to reduce the allergens your cat puts out.

I'm just happy that I was able to get a cat for Seamus. He's always had cats, and while he loves Duncan as much as I do-if you're a cat person like he is, a dog just doesn't replace that. I must say, as much as I am a straight-up dog person, I feel like our little family is complete now with little Kiff. Duncan really needed a friend, and Kiff is a great pal for him. It's great that he has someone to play with, eat with, and nap with when Seamus and I aren't there. Also, raising a cat with a dog is turning out to make the cat much less.... well, like a cat.

Well, that's all for now folks!

Poor Lenny..he's just relegated to the bottom rung now, huh?

You have made it officially impossible for anyone in the family to visit your apartment..unless they are pre-medicated against cat hair.
You hate us!

Kiff is cute :) even tho I will never hold him. I love your dad more than I could ever love a cat.

I need to show this post to Gavin. I think our little Newman needs a buddy - in the form of a cat.
