Semester nearing an end

The semester is over for me on Thursday, but I have a few hours of respite so I thought I'd write a post.

Seamus's birthday went really well considering it was in the middle of friggin' finals. I made him roast beef and roasted veggies and I am very proud of the results. We got to spend a little time relaxing, but we're just going to have a birthday-do-over this upcoming weekend anyway. Poor guy, his birthday is always in the middle of finals.

I only have one more exam left, and one more edit on my last term paper. I would turn it in now, but I can be a little obsessive about these things. I'm just glad that it's finally coming to a close. This has easily been the most mentally challenging semester I have ever taken, and while I am sure I will forget a lot, you can't take 3 classes about imperialism and not learn SOMETHING about arguably the most important time period of history. I wish I hadn't had to rush so much though, but hey, it's college...you don't actually read all your readings.

Anyway, on another note, I was goofing around on Facebook and took the MB personality test and it gave me a list of majors that would be appropriate for me:

I found this very amusing. History is #3, thankfully, but this brings up a funny memory. When I first met Seamus (like seriously, I'd met him maybe an hour before he said this) he told me that I would probably be a very good engineer. I was all surprised, because I liked to think of myself as the brooding-writer type back then. Now, I realize my adult personality has more fully developed, an yeah, I really do have an engineer type of personality. I just think it's funny how those you love see you better than you see yourself sometimes.

...And I thought he was just laying a line on me ;)

Funny, all my kids worked SO hard to not be like me, you all wound up being just like your dad...a better choice by far!
