Whew!

News news and more news!

I feel bad that my posts have become so erratic, but as it turns out, when you work as a writer, the last thing you want to do in your free time is write! In all seriousness though, my lack of posting is due to good things, not bad!

Seamus and I continue to be engrossed in work... in a good way. I think that streak of Dad in me is really coming out now that I have a "grown up job", because I find myself very much at home in my cubicle of technical manuals and schematics...and of course the droves of Star Trek fans/engineers. It's even better now that the weather is good enough that the company bikes are out again, and I get to take a leisurely ride to my meetings, and to lunch with Seamus. I'm actually glad, for the first time since I graduated, that I'm working instead of doing graduate work. Of course, I'd rather be writing about history, but someone will actually read and care about the stuff I'm writing now! I can't say that for any of the stuff I was writing a year ago.

We are also moving. Yes, again. 4 apartments in as many years. I'd promise like I did last year that we will STAY PUT... but I'm not going to make promises that I have a very bad track record of keeping :P

This time, we're going with Seamus' pick (#1 and #3 were my choice, #2 was his, so we're back to him now, haha) but never-fear, we do not need help moving. We've been packing all month, and we're not taking most of it with us.

Also, I got a new car, a Honda Civic Si:

that's obviously not my actual car, but I don't have any photos. That photo is of the same model/year... but it doesn't have a tasteful spoiler like my own Lil' Grey Honda.

On a similar note, there is a private airport across from L3, and I like to try my luck racing the various rich jerks that are always on that road to get to their planes. They all look like this guy to me anyway:

(One of the private plane companies is named "MillionAir" by the way....GROAN.)

Anyway, YES , they usually beat me- but just barely! I beat a Porsche Panamera (I think it was a Panamera, anyway) though! OK, so it didn't know we were racing, but I still won!

Other news: we continue to miss our little friend Brandon, who extended his Visa, and now won't be coming back until JANUARY. He said THREE MONTHS MAX! That thin-boned-liar! Seriously though, we're just glad he's doing well and having a good time in Thailand.

Big Dan quit Fairchild Semiconductor to focus on school, and yes, it's a good thing! He's a very talented guy, and we're hoping he does a BS in EE so that he can come work with us. Other than that, he's just welding Zelda shields out of steel and stuff... you know, usual Dan stuff.

Tom is off to Merry Olde England tomorrow for his Drink Across Britain trip with his stepdad. We'll see how that goes.... they will be walking/drinking 15 miles a day to make the entire North-South journey. I hope they make it... but something tells me they're going to end up in a ditch in Yorkshire, being peed on by vengeful Leeds United hooligans. I gotta say, Tom gets lost in Salt Lake City while sober... and his step-dad has a tendency to pick fights with strangers... not sure how this is going to go.

Duncan and Kif are.... Duncan and Kif. They continue to be crazy, drive us nuts, and be ridiculously adorable at all times. Kif is probably a year old by now (the Humane Society didn't know exactly how old she was) and she sure has gotten big! Here are a few snapshots of Duncan, Kif, and of course Seamus from the past few months:
