It's been a pretty crazy weekend up here! I got a bout of food poisoning and spent the larger part of Saturday puking my guts out. I'm better now, thanks to Seamus taking care of me, but I think I pulled just about every muscle in my torso in the up-chuck process. I have to give huge thanks to Seamus for sticking by me in my grossest hour and doing everything he could to get me feeling better. After giving me foot rubs and wrapping me up in blankets with a heating pad in the TV room (with a bucket of course, haha), he went out to Smith's and got me pretty much everything he could think of to get me feeling better, popsicles, gatorade, lavash, chips, tea, rubbing alcohol (smelling it it supposed to help ease nausea, and it kinda works but I still ralphed) and a bottle of Pepto. Thankfully the Pepto eventually got me to stop puking, so I didn't end up in the hospital or anything scary like that, thanks to Seamus' diligence. I won the lottery with this man, he really is the sweetest man alive. I apologized to him today, as my puking kept him from going out with his guy friends, and you know what he said? He said, "It's OK. I wish you hadn't been sick, but I enjoyed taking care of you." Dang, I am one lucky lady. We spent the rest of the evening watching stupid movies and playing Minecraft, and you know what? I actually ended up having a good day.
I still feel cruddy today, probably from getting so dehydrated, but as I haven't thrown up since yesterday I'm going to call this a victory! However...
This morning, just as Seamus and I were reflecting on how nice it was that I was not puking, Duncan jumped off of the couch and hurt his paw rather badly. He was howling so much that we went straight to the ER Vet. Thankfully, it turned out to be a sprain even though they initially thought it was a fracture. The poor little guy can't use the hurt paw at all. :( He should be better in a little under a week, and we've got all kinds of medicines to help him stay comfy though. The cat is pretty sad that her playmate is so groggy and can't run and wrestle with her, but she's doing a good job cuddling him, grooming him, and entertaining him with her antics.
Somehow, we still managed to have a fun weekend. It's hard to be gloomy around Seamus, haha. I'm just so grateful that I have such a great partner. :)
