Hi everyone, things are going better with the whole smoke factory that is my apartment building. The insurance people are cleaning everything today and tomorrow, we'll be back in a good-smelling and thoroughly cleaned apartment on Friday. We'll get the rest of our clothes and blankets etc back next week from the cleaning people, so we'll be back to normal soon.
By normal, I mean just the regular sort of so-hectic-don't-have-time-to-breathe life we were leading before that old coot in #8 decided everything would be better with that Just Been Camping odor.
Yeah, we're going to be paying the deductible, but I think having someone clean every single thing in our apartment and actually be NICE about it (yeah, insurance people being nice, I'm not kidding) is well worth it. Hopefully the deductible will be offset by the stuff we're being flat out paid for because it's ruined, but I'm not counting on it.
Anyway, we're going to be enjoying another two nights at the lovely Carlton. I'm feeling much better about everything, especially since I've resigned myself to the deductible as being something unavoidable and not unfair (it really isn't the more I think about it) and as a "discount" for having thousands of dollars of work done to fix all my crap up.
The fact that I just ordered some delicious sushi to be delivered in a while also makes me happy
:)
Yummmm, raw fish, the recipe for good dreams.

so sorry about the apartment. It's just not fair.
CCL's shouldn't be allowed to rent apartments...but they do. Cat pee is a known incendiary device!! Also, the plywood on the building just adds to the charm of the Rhodes (Bake'N'Serve).
Expensive housekeepers, tho.
Hey girl...haven't checked my blog or anyone else's for a while. Sorry to hear about your apartment! Hope the sushi made it all better.
